"You Are Now The Owner of this Suitcase," directed by Ari Laura Kreith, a hit at The West End Theatre!!! Now onto Jackson Heights for two more shows!!
I just finished a fantastic run of "You Are Now The Owner of this Suitcase," a beautiful modern day fairy tale about Jackson Heights, Queens. It was produced by Theatre 167 and directed by Artistic Director Ari Laura Kreith. 7 writers collaborated to write this play based on interviews with residents of Jackson Heights. Those awesome playwrights are: co-founder Jenny Lyn Bader, Stefanie Zadravec (who's brilliant and harrowing Honey Brown Eyes I starred in at SF Playhouse) Les Hunter, Joy Tomasko (both wonderful playwrights I've had the great pleasure of working with in the past), Barbara Cassidy, Gary Winter, and Mando Alvarado.
(I also was the show's fight choreographer)
We had an 11 person cast if you can believe it (so much brilliant, creative loving energy to make an hour long show!), and those marvelous people are: Kevis Hillocks, Pooya Mosheni, Tori Ernst, Mariana Cardenas, John D. Haggerty, Derick Sherier, Mauricio Pita, Elodie Morss, Nathaniel Gotbaum, and MIchael Markham.
And then there was our fantastic crew:
