First week of the year I had the pleasure of working on Sara Lyon's adaptation of the book "I'm Very Into You," by Kathy Acker and Mackenzie Wark-an exchange of emails, in the 90s, between the two theorists after having had a brief fling in Sydney. Sara Lyons was also our director, and I got to work alongside one of my favorite NY actors, Emily Davis, who played Kathy. It was performed as part of the Special Effects Festival, performed at the Wild Project in the East Village. The reading was a great success! Mackenzie Wark was generous enough to attend and loved the piece. (And I got to do an Australian accent for the first time!). You should really look up both Kathy and Mackenzie, they are brilliant people.

"Defenceless under the night /Our world in stupor lies; /Yet, dotted everywhere, /Ironic points of light /Flash out wherever the Just /Exchange their messages: May I, composed like them /Of Eros and of dust,/ Beleaguered by the same /Negation and despair/, Show an affirming flame." Archives
